FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Three arrested in ongoing drug investigations

On Tuesday, July 10, investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office spotted a vehicle in the Vernon area registered to an individual being pursued for outstanding warrants.  Investigators stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, Alexander Jackson, 24 year old black male.  A warrant was issued for Jackson for sell of cocaine and his arrest was a result of a lengthy undercover drug investigation in which several other charges and arrests are expected. The passenger of the vehicle, Deontra Andrews, 31 year old black male, was subsequently searched and found in possession of cocaine, marijuana, and controlled substances without a prescription.    Both Andrews and Jackson were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.  Andrews’ charges include possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Also stemming from an ongoing drug investigation, investigators served a warrant on Matthew Harris, 18 year old white male, for 5 counts of sell or delivery of a controlled substance.  Harris is being held at the Washington County Jail.  “We can’t say enough about the intensity in which our narcotics investigators work these drug cases”, states Sheriff Haddock.  “Our investigators work extreme hours and track down countless leads in an effort to ensure every person responsible for illegal drug activity is held accountable for their actions.  Washington county is safer because of the job these guys do everyday.”
