Theft ring bust uncovers Lane’s Outdoor Equipment stolen property

Sheriff Bob by Haddock was pleased to deliver all 5 brand new SCAG lawnmowers, stolen on November 5th, back to Lane’s Outdoor Equipment on Tuesday.  The mowers, valued at approximately $50,000, were recovered after a multi-state theft ring was uncovered by investigators in Foley , AL .  Two juvenile white males are suspects in the thefts. 

Two of the mowers were recovered from a storage facility in Silver Hill , AL and the other three mowers were discovered at a storage facility owned by one of the suspect’s parents in Molino , FL.   The thefts occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 5th when the two juvenile suspects drove two separate vehicles with trailers attached, loading up 5 SCAG mowers at Lane’s Outdoor Equipment and taking Interstate 10 to their respective home cities of Molino, FL, which is approximately 16 miles north of Pensacola and Silver Hill, AL close to Foley, AL. 

The suspects, both 17 years of age, had stolen several hundred thousands of dollars worth of property, which they intended to sell via eBay so they could purchase new vehicles for themselves.  The suspects had already sold several stolen items successfully on eBay.  Both suspects will be charged with one count of burglary and one count of grand theft for the burglary at Lane’s.  The suspects will also face several additional charges in other states.
