Tow Local Drug Dealers and Sex Offender Sentenced

Washington County Sheriff’s Office announces the sentencing of Mark Douglas Stricklen, 39 year old white male, from the Caryville area.  Stricklen, a long time drug dealer, was sentenced to 15 years Department of Corrections, as well as, a $50,000 fine based on a minimum mandatory guideline for his September 2007 arrest on drug charges. 

Also sentenced was Daniel Aaron Taylor, 22 year old white male, from the Caryville area.  Taylor, a was sentenced to 10 years Department of Corrections, as well as, a $26,000 fine based on a minimum mandatory guideline for the June 2007 arrest on drug trafficking charges.  Taylor will follow his sentence with 10 years probation. 

“This was an example of the success we can achieve when narcotics investigators put in long hours and work in partnership with the State Attorney’s office to remove high volume drug dealers from Washington County” states Sheriff Haddock.  “I cannot praise our team enough for the job they did on these cases.  If not for their, as well as Assistant State Attorney Barbara Finch and the State Attorney’s Office’s dedication to the resolution of the drug problem here in our county, we would not be reporting this sentencing today.”

Roy Turner, 27 year old white male, was sentenced to 10 years Department of Corrections for his June 2007 arrest for sex offenses against a child.  Turner was sentenced as a sex offender and will have to follow all registration and monitoring regulations following his release after serving his sentence.
