On Wednesday, July 11, 2007 deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested sexual offender Mark Verner Garish, 33 year old white male, for failure to follow sexual offender registration requirements according to Florida Statue.  Garich had been living in the Ebro area of Washington County for over 30 days and had failed to register as required by Florida Statue.   

As of July 1st there have been several new guidelines added in reference to sexual offenders and sexual predators including increased per year registration requirements and all sexual offenders and sexual predators will be required to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license or identification card displaying one of two designation markings.  As of Oct 1st sexual offenders and sexual predators will be required to register their email addresses and instant messenger names.  Washington County Sheriff’s Office has arrested over 10 sexual offenders for violations of registration requirements since the development of the Sexual Offender Registration Department.
