March 12, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Washington
County Sheriff’s Office announces the following sentences: Roslyn
Mark Bryant, 47 year old black male, from the Chipley area.
Bryant, who one month after being released from prison, was
arrested on burglary, grand theft, petty theft and criminal
mischief charges. Bryant
was sentenced to 30 years Department of Corrections his 2007
arrest. Jon
Phillip Garvin, 19 year old white male from the Chipley area.
Garvin was sentenced to 15 years Department of Corrections
for his 2007 arrest on sexual assault charges on a victim under
the age of 12. Thomas
Nelson, 27 year old white male from the Ponce de Leon area.
Nelson was sentenced to 7 years Department of Corrections,
as well as, over $100,000 in fines for his 2003 arrest on the
trafficking of methamphetamines and possession of cocaine charges.
Nelson will follow his sentence with 3 years probation.
Erick
Jones, 37 year old black male, from the Caryville area.
Jones was sentenced to 4 years Department of Corrections
for his 2007 arrest for the burglary of the Riverstop convenience
store in Caryville. Teri
Wicker, 45 year old white female, from the Caryville area.
Wicker was sentenced to 2 years Department of Corrections
for her 2006 arrest on resisting officer with violence charges. Yardley
Potter, 31 year old black male from the Yvette
Richards, 45 year old white female from the Chipley area.
Richards was sentenced to 18 months Department of
Corrections for her 2007 arrest on fraud charges. Desiree
Lincoln, 26 year old white female from the Wilburn
Steverson, 47 year old white male from the Bonifay area.
Steverson was sentenced to 1 year 1 day Department of
Corrections for his 2007 arrest on possession of cocaine charges. Ronald
Mills, 26 year old white male from the “This is another round of successful endings on some long, hard fault cases for the sheriff’s office and State Attorney’s Office” states Sheriff Haddock. “These represent countless man hours by our officers which allowed us to pass the baton to Assistant State Attorney Barbara Finch to present strong cases and succeed in getting tough sentences for habitual offenders. Our mark of success is when we can work together and remove those people who represent the biggest threat to our community. |
